英语中有许多形容词都有各自的特殊的含义，有时不能按字面去理解

green （绿色）

3.与绿色有关的社台内涵

（1）英语中表示嫉妒用be green with envy，和汉语中的“嫉妒得眼晴发红”恰恰相反，这大概是由于人种不同。眼珠颜色有别的缘故吧。

（2）Green revolution汉语意思是“绿色革命”，指以推广高产小麦为开端的农业革命。

（3）In American general elections the candidates that win are ususlly the ones who have green power backing them.在美国大选中，得胜的一方往往都是那些背后有大财团支持的侯选人。
