For success in a future job, the ability to relate well to people is more important than studying hard in school.

Admittedly, the job market tends to become overwhelmingly competitive nowadays. Everyone has the inclination to succeed. In my humble opinion, I am for the view that capability of relating with others outweighs hard study in school.

To begin with, one of requirement for employee is to build up a tight relationship with colleagues, boss, and clients. Undoubtedly, the boss views more abilities of learning new knowledge and skills than past study experience in school. The results and achievement are viewed as the most important in many companies. Besides, what is learned during school, sometimes, doesn’t keep the pace of times. When people are exposed to the career, they have to learn new technologies and knowledge all the time. The capability of learning weighs more than knowledge itself. Moreover, the ability to relate well cannot be learned from books. People are usually aware of it through their own experience.

In addition to the relationship in career, when it comes to university students, it seems to be more significant than study hard. Opportunities do exist everywhere. The core is how to take advantages of each chance people meet with. For instance, university students can occasionally communicate with prestigious professors that they admire for long to establish a good relationship. Thus, the professors seem to be more willing to write a recommendation letter for the student that they are more familiar with. Isn’t it a less chance for the professor that even have no impression on you to make recommendation? Isn’t an embarrassment if the professor cannot you’re your name? Furthermore, it is common that professors determine the internship or job opportunities of some excellent students after overall judge on the ability of students, especially whether they are sociable and sophisticated enough.

Another important factor is that friends are supposed to bring about more chances for you. Just as a famous saying goes, one depends on family at home and friends out home. Keeping a good relationship with friends is quite necessary, which is not simple as it seems. Chatting and communicating with friends, people benefit from others’ experience and useful information, which they cannot pick it up from books. For example, by the introduction of friends, one may find soul mates at the party. By the recommendation of friends, one may find a better job.

In general, I am convinced that relations are hard to build today while books can be read all the time. Seizing every chance to communicate with others, one will definitely benefit from it sooner or later.
